Bar mitzvah (Hebrew: בַּר מִצְוָה) is a Jewish coming of age ritual for boys. Bat mitzvah is a . the event. However, this does not delay the onset of rights and responsibilities of being a Jewish adult which comes about strictly by virtue of age.
I grew up in an interfaith family that practiced no religion. As an adult I have joined a synagogue and am trying to learn what I missed out on.
